Store silver in anti-tarnish storage bags , rolls or pouches to slow the formation of tarnish. Anti-tarnish strips placed in jewellery boxes and cutlery canteens also help by absorbing the atmospheric pollutants that cause blackening. Keep silver away from rubber bands, newspaper and damp conditions.

The anti-tarnish properties remain effective as long as the fabric is not washed. Under normal conditions, the bags and rolls will protect silver for years. Simply avoid machine washing or soaking them - if they need freshening, air them out briefly.
